Lisa Dunk

The American mezzo-soprano Lisa Dunk lives in Venice.
After receiving a Bachelor in music and medieval studies at Indiana University, where she was a Wells Scholar, she came to Europe to study early music with Kees Boeke and Claudia Caffagni at the Musikhochschule in Trossingen, Germany. She received a Masters in medieval and Renaissance music in 2011.
She has collaborated with the ensemble La Reverdie and is a founding member of Isabella and sings regularly with the Venitian ensemble La Frottola. In 2015 she made her opera debut in Verdi’s Aida at the ancient Greek theater in Taormina, Sicily, where she was also the alto soloist for Beethoven’s 9th symphony.
Her most recent projects include Xenakis’ Oresteia at the Theater Basel with Franck Ollu and Calixto Bieito.
